42K4Peace - Living solidarity at a run

A marathon distance divided into stages in the sign of peace - that was the initiative 42K4Peace, which sent out a sign for peace.

"The 42K4Peace initiative was a very nice act of solidarity, with which many runners combined their preparations for the competitions around the 19th Salzburg Marathon," says Johannes Langer, organizer of the running festival in the city of Mozart. A four-digit sum from the initiative went to the aid campaign “Neighbours in Need – Help for the Ukraine”. The initiative has increased meaningfulness due to the symbolic connection to the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers. "After all, the Salzburg Marathon and running in general stand for peaceful coexistence while running," says Langer.

In this virtual run, the kilometers run by all units were registered in a given period of time. Ronald Höflechner covered the most kilometers with 283.66 kilometers ahead of Isabelle Maringer (263.29) and Roland Vasicek (234.43). Three non-cash prizes were raffled off among all participants, and the winners were notified in writing.
