We appeal to you to refrain from running with headphones, earplugs or AirPods during the Mozart City Running Festival for safety reasons. To ensure that the event runs safely and that the race runs smoothly on the course, it is essential that all participants are fully aware of the instructions of the moderators, race organisers, course safety personnel and the police and Red Cross emergency services. Anyone running with headphones could easily put themselves in a dangerous situation.
There are six refreshment stations and two water stations per lap. In other words, twice the number on the marathon distance. You can see them on our interactive route map marked.
You will find mobile toilet facilities in the start and finish area at all races.
On Sunday there will also be mobile toilet facilities at each refreshment station.
Yes, the course of the PUMA Salzburg Marathon is officially measured and certified. In addition, the PUMA Salzburg Marathon is registered in the Global Calendar of World Athletics. Therefore, the performances achieved are suitable for the best lists and are recognised, for example, as qualifying times for the Boston Marathon.
The showers in the sports centre Mitte (Ulrike-Gschwandtner-Straße 6) are available to participants. If you have any questions, please contact the information desk. We have marked the route on Google Maps marked.
Visitor information
The spectator experience will reach a new level at this year's PUMA Salzburg Marathon. In addition to the well-known hotspots around the world-famous sights of the city of Mozart, such as Hellbrunn Palace, Leopoldskron Palace or the passage through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Salzburg's Old Town, there will be several cheering zones for all participants, running fans and spectators on 17 May.
The first highlight will be provided by the KingKong Club with its Motivation Zone in front of the Unipark. Cheering zone two is organised by the Jump Dome in front of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. With its Highpoint Zone (based on the famous „Runner's High“), PUMA guarantees special action at Platzl. This spectator-friendly and participant-motivating spot is a special source of energy before the final sections of the course to the finish - or on the second marathon lap.
After crossing the Staatsbrücke bridge with its magnificent view of the old town and Hohensalzburg Fortress, the field reaches the Powerade Zone at Hanuschplatz. After their stakes, the first three runners of the relay teams gather in this relaxation zone and wait for their team member. Together, they set off on the last few hundred metres towards the finish line. Like all runners in the main competitions, they pass the spectator-friendly spot of Uni Athletics, Hervis and PUMA on Anton-Neumayr-Platz - the perfect motivational boost for the approaching finish line.
