Successful running autumn for Salzburg Marathon winners

Running autumn 2016 brought some sporting highlights for runners who have also celebrated great victories in the Salzburg Marathon in recent years. These successes underscore the fact that notable sporting achievements have been made at the Salzburg Marathon in recent years.

EM participation and Dutch championship title

Dutch Ruth van der Meijden is enjoying what is probably the most successful phase of her career. It all started on May 1st when she won the Sparkasse half marathon in Salzburg in a new course record time of 1:13:01 hours. She qualified for the Dutch national team and was allowed to take part in the half marathon as part of the home European Championships in Amsterdam. Three and a half months later, the Dutch capital was again the scene of a great success: At the Amsterdam Marathon, the 32-year-old finished seventh in a time of 2:33:44 hours and celebrated winning the Dutch championship title in marathon running. The autumn was rounded off by several top results in races in her home country.
