"One Mile for a Smile"

As part of the "Get active days", the "Get active" integration run will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017, starting at 6:30 p.m. The competition features a new charity concept: Eight charity organizations - Caritas & Archdiocese, Jojo Association, panairobi, Wayne Warma, SoriNaTu, Rainbows, DEBRA Austria and the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg - will present themselves and their projects on the sporting stage of the Salzburg Marathon. The direct sale of the start numbers by the charity organizations to the participating runners increased donations in an unbureaucratic and effective way.

By participating in the “Get active” integration run and making a donation, charity projects for needy children in Austria, Peru, Kenya and Ghana are supported.

Raffle instead of award ceremony

Although the time is measured at a distance of about one nautical mile, there is no ordinary award ceremony, as the prizes are raffled among all participants. In addition to supporting numerous charity projects, it is about sending a clear message of togetherness - regardless of age, origin, religion and physical condition. True to the motto "One Mile for a Smile".
