15th Running Festival in the City of Mozart from 4th to 6th May

With its 15th edition, the running festival in the city of Mozart is continuing with conviction on the path it took years ago and is backing a wide range that includes the right challenge for every running enthusiast. The venue at Mirabellplatz and in the adjacent Kurgarten guarantees a great atmosphere and a compact event with short distances. Around 7,500 active people from the city and country as well as from nations on every continent will once again be providing an international meeting place for runners this year and presenting Salzburg as a sporty city. Because on the first weekend in May, the topics of running & exercise, health & an active lifestyle dominate in the city of Mozart. The emotional highlight for all active people is an outstanding and enjoyable running experience for the whole family.

National marathon championships as a sporting highlight

The marathon also sets the sporting highlights at the 15th Running Festival in the City of Mozart. For the sixth time since 2007 and for the first time since 2016, the Salzburg Marathon was commissioned by the Austrian Athletics Association (ÖLV) to host the state championships and the Austrian masters championships in the traditional 42.195 kilometer run. The Sparkasse half marathon and the Hervis-10K Salzburg CityRun with the Hervis Team Challenge offer further exciting sporting challenges as parallel competitions.

Day of Sports and Junior Marathon

After the exclusively positive experiences of the last year, the Saturday, which focuses on families, will be particularly atmospheric. From 12:30 p.m., the Salzburg sports associations and clubs present themselves at the "Sports Day" organized by the Salzburg Marathon together with the LSO in the Kurgarten and invite you to get extensive information and try things out. The popular children's and youth runs of the junior marathon then take place before the integration run concludes Saturday. Under the motto "One Mile for a Smile", the running festival in the city of Mozart, together with charitable organizations and their projects as well as the runners, set a charity focus for needy children in Austria, Africa, South America and India.

On Saturday morning, participants in the CUP&CINO breakfast run and the Bio Austria CityWalk enjoy an exclusive perspective of the beauties and sights of the city of Mozart.



Atmospheric start on Friday

The first starting shot will be fired on Friday evening with the Salzburger Nachrichten AfterWorkRun&Walk - the sporty, active and atmospheric start to the Salzburg running weekend. In addition to the sporting activities, the attractive musical accompaniment after the 5-kilometer run and the food from the Salzburg organic village also invite you to enjoy it. The high-quality tasting based on seasonally available, regional and organically grown food in the Salzburg organic village represents a strength of the region throughout the weekend and is unique in this way at marathon events worldwide.



Premiere of the Sparkasse Lauf Forum

The largest sports fair in Salzburg, the SportMall@Salzburg Marathon, will also open its doors on Friday. Around 12,000 sports enthusiasts are expected to visit the Salzburg Congress over the two days of the exhibition. The 1st Sparkasse Running Forum is taking place at the SportMall, where experts give expert lectures on important topics relating to running and exercise.
