Great emotions at the Junior Marathon

With the Junior Marathon, the competition with probably the most emotional moments of the Salzburg Running Festival recently came to an end. More than 1,900 children and young people took part in this year's version of the Junior Marathon - an absolute record, which was also made possible thanks to the exemplary commitment of numerous teachers from the entire province of Salzburg. Because never before have so many young runners enlivened the city of Salzburg during the marathon weekend. Thousands of enthusiastic spectators cheered on the motivated kids along the entire route and provided goosebumps and a real running spectacle.

Small children made great achievements

In great, early summer weather conditions, the young athletes running in the Junior Marathon showed great fighting spirit and enthusiasm. Starting at Mirabellplatz, the kids fought their way through parts of Rainerstrasse, Auerspergstrasse and Schwarzstrasse, through the Kurgarten and finally back to Mirabellplatz. Depending on their age group (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 or U18), the children and young people had to complete the attractive round of 890m either once or twice. The little ones (U6) went for a walk through the Kurgarten.

In addition to the breathtaking atmosphere and great athletic performance, one thing was ultimately the focus again - the joy of exercising together.
