Bio Austria: Jubilee of a loyal partnership

For ten years now, the Salzburg Marathon has not only stood for a sporty running experience, but also sets an impulse for sustainable, healthy and high-quality nutrition. In close cooperation with Bio Austria Salzburg, the first organic certification of this major sporting event was achieved in 2010 - this has been repeated annually since then. This absolute novelty among marathons is celebrating a special anniversary this year: the tenth organic certification, carried out by the SLK.

The focus again this year is on the innovative implementation of high-quality tasting in organic food trucks. All food and dishes on the running weekend are not only organic, but also from the region and seasonally available. In cooperation with more and more organic farmers, Bio Austria Salzburg pays attention to the holistic implementation of ecological guidelines and standards. And with remarkable success. 58 percent of the agricultural land in Salzburg is farmed organically. This is a top value within the EU!

Shortly before the tenth organic certification, DI Andreas Schwaighofer, Managing Director of Bio Austria Salzburg, is more than ever convinced of the cooperation with Salzburg's largest active sports event: "Organic nutrition will result in an enjoyable result over three days with a particularly atmospheric atmosphere at the Salzburg Marathon weekend involved."
