Great performances at the junior marathon

The junior marathon traditionally provides the most emotional moments of the running festival in the city of Mozart. This was impressively demonstrated again this year. Around 2,000 children and young people from the entire federal state and neighboring Bavaria ran in various age groups on the new running track through the Salzburg Volksgarten.

The U8 and U10 classes kicked off this year's junior marathon. For them it was the almost 960 meter long circuit through the Volksgarten. Maximilian Holz secured victory in the U8 class ahead of Eric Schrattenecker and Josef Sendlhofer. For the girls, Mirjam Salzmann won the race ahead of Lilian Simmerstatter and Natalie Mittenbühler.

Immediately afterwards, the girls and boys in the U10 class put up an exciting race. Lorenz Weinhandl prevailed here ahead of Alexander Frericks from Italy and Laurin Mayrl. Only a few seconds separated first and third place. The girls' victory went to Rihanna Lalaeva ahead of Carmen Stöckl and Julia Steiner.

Two rounds and thus almost 1,920 had to be dealt with in further sales for the age groups U12 and upwards. Nikolas Burns was able to set the best time among the under-12s and relegated Emil Tzschöckel and Laurenz Dutka to second and third place. Lara Reich, on the other hand, prevailed in the girls' category ahead of Lina Pechhacker and Fatima Askhabova.

Victory in the U14 class went to David Kriechbaum, who crossed the finish line immediately ahead of jonas Wackernell and Oskar Turner. Lara-Joy Schörghofer was able to claim a clear win in the U14 female class. Julia pechhacker came in second and Filomena wisely secured third place.

Lennert Krien won the race in the U16 class. Second place went to Oliver Schwarzl and third place went to Florian Hauthaler. Among the young women, Anna Thaumiller was crowned winner ahead of Hanna Schwarzer and Verena Tschernutter.

Among the under 18s, Christian Vorhauser prevailed and relegated Paul Reichl and Konstantin Kitic to second and third place. In the U18 female category, Maria-Stella Tomasini won ahead of Sara Wind and Maren Löwe.
