The faithful soul of the Salzburg Marathon

Running is his passion and has been for many years. What is meant is the Seekirchner Martin Schretthauser. He has already tackled the marathon distance an unbelievable eleven times at the running festival in the city of Mozart. Tomorrow, Sunday, the twelfth prank will follow...

Martin Schretthauser is probably one of the most loyal participants in the Salzburg Marathon. He ran his first marathon in 2008 and is now about to start his 49th marathon and his twelfth in the city of Mozart. When asked what his goal was, Schretthauser said: "A time of just under four hours would be very nice. But it shouldn't take longer than 4:30 hours," he said with a smile on his face. There is no question of him being under-prepared: "This year I have already run the marathons in Vienna and Hamburg." After tomorrow's marathon, the Seekirchen native is about to celebrate an impressive anniversary: the 50th marathon of his life.
