Money back, even in case of cancellation
"We currently see no reason at all to ban major events," said Salzburg's governor Wilfried Haslauer on Wednesday in the Salzburg state parliament (see ORF broadcast Salzburg today from March 4, 2020). Johannes Langer, organizer of the Salzburg Marathon, evaluates this statement positively, but is aware that decisions that are currently being made in other countries will depend on the further development of the Covid-19 in Austria. “We are currently preparing the running festival for the weekend of April 15-17. May as originally planned and we are looking forward to a big celebration of sporting togetherness," he affirmed. The fact that the canceled events such as the Rome or Paris Marathon were planned within the next four weeks, but the Salzburg Marathon will only take place in around two and a half months and in a warmer season, also offers optimism.
Cancellation insurance also active in the event of a coronavirus cancellation
For a low price of just a few euros (depending on the amount of the entry fee for the relevant competition), the cancellation insurance offers you a particularly comprehensive offer as part of the online registration via the platform of our partner Njuko. If you are unable to take part in the Running Festival in the City of Mozart from May 15th to 17th for a valid reason - e.g. in the event of an injury or illness - you will receive a full refund of your entry fee from the "Circles Group" insurance company upon presentation of the receipts. This offer from the partner insurance of the Njuko registration platform also applies in the event that the running festival in the city of Mozart has to be canceled due to the spread of the corona virus. The insurance even becomes active if participants do not want to travel to Salzburg for fear of an increased risk of infection, even though the running festival in the city of Mozart is taking place.
"We are aware of our responsibility!"
The organizer is already in close contact with the Austrian authorities and guarantees that the Salzburg running weekend will only be held if the safety situation for participants, employees and spectators is good. “We are fully aware of our responsibility towards runners and are therefore in dialogue with the relevant public authorities. If the worst comes to the worst, there is also a plan B, which implies implementation at a later date," emphasizes Langer and addresses the running scene with reassuring words: "Despite all the uncertainties, I invite everyone who is interested to continue to look at the to prepare individual competitions of the running festival in the city of Mozart and to use the training dates offered.”
