Salzburg marathon winner with a fast half marathon

He was the fastest marathon runner to ever take part in the Salzburg Marathon. Victor Kipchirchir demonstrated why this is still valid last Sunday in Padua in northern Italy. There, the 33-year-old won the half marathon in a top time of 59:19 minutes. He improved on his almost ten-year-old personal best and seems well prepared for his next marathon.

In 2019, the Kenyan ran to victory alone in early summer conditions in the Mozart city and reached the finish line in front of the Great Festival Hall in a time of 2:17:03 hours.
