New Balance takes the initiative for mental health

New Balance, exclusive outfitter partner of the Salzburg Marathon, announced last week a collaboration with Los Angeles-based apparel and footwear company District Vision. The common message of the new joint collection: to raise awareness of mental health through running. The US top runners Emily Sisson and Brenda Martinez will also share their experiences in online courses.

Running as a tool for mental well-being

“We believe in sport as a holistic tool for wellbeing and want to emphasize the idea that mental wellbeing is at the core of physical activity, especially running,” said Tom Daily, co-founder of District Vision. "The hope is that people will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to move mindfully and learn how to use running as a solution to better mental well-being," adds Max Vallot, also a co-founder of the company.

New Balance takes the same line. According to a press statement, the aim is to raise awareness of the importance of physical health and to promote running as a potential path to good physical and mental well-being.
