Running connects & does good

The One Mile For A Smile - Inclusion Run by Coca-Cola as an emotional highlight of a day dedicated to diversity.

The Inclusion Run by Coca-Cola conjured up an atmosphere of joy and togetherness in the Salzburg Volksgarten on Saturday. With the motto "One Mile For A Smile" 262 participants ran a distance of around 1.8 kilometers.

The community, the support for charity organizations and the unrestricted participation of all sports enthusiasts were the focus. The run was a strong statement for inclusion, for mental and physical health and for peaceful coexistence. The Paralympics winner and racing wheelchair user Thomas Geierspichler sent the participants on two laps through the Volksgarten accompanied by drum rhythms.

The route could be completed running or walking or by disabled athletes in their respective sports equipment. Being there counted - and the support for aid organizations for the benefit of needy children and young people in Austria and abroad.

“Naturally, the main focus of the Salzburg Marathon is on sport. At the same time, we don't want to forget those people who are not so lucky in their lives. That's why the charity within the framework of the running festival in the city of Mozart is an important concern for us," explains organizer Johannes Langer.

Over the past 18 years, more than 350,000 euros have been collected from and at the Salzburg Marathon for various initiatives. The 2022 edition adds further important support to charities and an important contribution to making children's lives safer and more valuable.
