Important information POWERADE RelayMarathon

Please read the following information carefully. The better informed you are when you arrive at the Running Festival in Mozart City, the more relaxed your performance at the POWERADE RelayMarathon 2026 will be.

Before the race

How does the bib pick-up work?

• A member of your relay team will collect all start numbers. Please bring your start pass with you. We recommend „digital“ collection using the QR code to save on printing - as a small token for environmental protection.
• You will get the bib numbers at the SportMall in the Volksgarten ice arena. The opening hours are: Friday, 15 May, from 1pm to 7pm & Saturday, 16 May, from 10am to 7pm.
• Only in justifiable exceptional cases and with advance notification by e-mail you can pick up your bib number on Sunday morning from 6.30 to 8 am in the Volksgarten ice arena!

How should the race number be attached?

• Very important: Please wear your bib number on the outermost layer of clothing on the front of your upper body and do not remove or damage the adhesive strips!
• The bib number is your distinguishing feature during the race and therefore also serves your safety in an emergency. Good visibility on the chest is therefore very important.
• Bib tapes are not permitted!
• Please take four safety pins with you to attach your bib number when you collect it!

Is it possible to register on site?

• Yes, registration is still possible online via the Datasport platform up to and including 14 May. If race numbers are still available, it will also be possible to register on site during SportMall opening hours.

At the race

Where is the start?

• The starting signal for the POWERADE relay marathon will be given on Sunday, 17 May at 8:40 am on the Staatsbrücke.
• The starting line-up is located in Schwarzstraße. Access to the starting line-up is via the Marko-Feingold-Steg or the Müllner Steg coming from the old town.

How does the start procedure work?

• All starting runners of the relay teams start exclusively from the fourth starting block (BLUE). Please pay attention to the colour coding on the start number.
• The starting signal for the fourth starting block is given at 8.40 am.
• Access to the start area is via the Marko Feingold footbridge or the Müllner footbridge - but not via the Staatsbrücke!

How long are the individual stages?

• Runner:in 1 runs from the start on the Staatsbrücke to the relay handover in front of the Stiegl Brauwelt. This results in a distance of around 15.2 kilometres.
• Runner:in 2 runs from the relay handover in front of Stiegl Brauwelt to the relay handover at Universitätsplatz (half marathon split time). This results in a distance of about 5.9 kilometres.
• Runner:in 3 runs from the relay handover at Universitätsplatz to the relay handover in front of Stiegl Brauwelt. This results in a distance of around 15.2 kilometres.
• Runner 4 runs from the relay handover in front of the Stiegl Brauwelt to the finish at Max-Reinhardt-Platz. This results in a distance of around 5.9 kilometres.

How do you reach the finish line together?

• Crossing the finish line together is expressly encouraged and crowns your emotional running day. Enjoy the last few hundred metres of your relay adventure together and soak up the atmosphere in the finish area. After crossing the finish line, each and every one of you will receive a well-deserved finisher's medal.
• While the final runner is on the course, everyone who has already run their course gathers at Ferdinand Hanusch-Platz. There, in the Powerade Zone, you wait relaxed with music and moderation until your colleague passes by. Then you get back into the race and run to the finish together.

Why do all relay teams have to carry a baton?

• As the timing chip is integrated into the baton, it is very important that the baton is carried in the hand at all times - from start to finish. Just like you know it from the sprint relays at the Olympic Games on TV!
• The staff of our timekeeping partner Datasport will collect the batons directly at the finish line.

Where can the starter bags be handed in?

• You can collect your starter bag in the inner courtyard of the University of Salzburg under the arcades. There are two entrances - addresses: Hofstallgasse 4 and Universitätsplatz 1.
• Our team looks after the stand from 7.15 am to 2.30 pm.
• Only the official Sparkasse starter bags labelled with the start number will be accepted.
• Other bags, rucksacks and personal luggage can be handed in separately for a fee (€5 per item).
• It is not possible to hand in starter bags at the relay handover points.

How do I get from the starter bag handover/marathon finish to the relay handovers?

• From the marathon finish at Max-Reinhardt-Platz, it is around 1.8 kilometres to the relay handover in front of Stiegl Brauwelt (1 & 3) - ideal for a relaxed warm-up run. We have marked the route for you on Google Maps.
• The route to relay handover 2 at Universitätsplatz is easy. Walk from Hofstallgasse through the inner courtyard of the university and reach Universitätsplatz via the exit.

Where are the changing rooms and showers located?

• Changing rooms and showers are available at the Sportzentrum Mitte (Ulrike-Gschwandtner-Straße 6).
• They will be open on Sunday, 17 May, from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
• We have marked the route from the marathon finish line to the showers on Google Maps.

Where is the medal engraving located?

• You can have your medals engraved in the inner courtyard of the University of Salzburg.
• The service costs 14 euros.
