Inclusion & diversity at the running festival

Running is open and colourful, a sport for everyone. That is part of our self-image. This is wonderfully expressed in the atmospheric togetherness of every running event. Virtually anyone can participate as a hobby - regardless of race, status, income, creed, almost regardless of age, gender identity and no matter how you look, speak, think and love. We look forward to an atmospheric and unconditional get-together at the Running Festival in Mozart City.

Since 2022, we have been showing the diversity of the running community with the choice of gender during the registration process. The gender options male, female and diverse are available. The classification in the overall results list is made accordingly.

Please note: Enthusiastic runners who have made a diverse gender selection will not be considered in the categories women or men. This also applies to the age group ratings. Here there are clear guidelines from the rules of the World Athletics Association (World Athletics) and the Austrian Athletics Association (ÖLV), to which the Running Festival in Mozart City naturally adheres.

There are no award ceremonies in the diverse category.

Deregistration - only after availability

Are you unable to take part in the 2026 Mozart City Running Festival for health reasons? If you have made the appropriate selection when registering, please contact our registration partner Datasport (cancellation protection@datasport.com) and present a doctor's certificate and confirmation of registration. Please note: Cancellation protection is only available for individual registrations, not for collective or group registrations.

You can find all information about Datasport’s cancellation protection here.

Alternatively, the Running Festival in Mozart City offers a special re-registration service. You can pass on or sell your starting place yourself by finding a runner who will take over your starting place for you. Simply contact us at office@salzburg-marathon.at. Re-registrations are free of charge until 31 December 2025. From 1 January 2026, a processing fee of €15 will be charged. This is significantly cheaper than the regular entry fee for new registrations. Re-registrations must be submitted by 27 April 2026 at the latest.

In addition to the consent of the participant who authorises the change of registration, please send us all the data requested by Datasport during the registration process! These are surname, first name, date of birth, nationality, gender, address, e-mail address, telephone number, emergency contact (name and telephone), starting block (for marathon & half marathon).

Please note: Your booked additional services such as the medal engraving, the purchase of the BibBits or the functional shirt will be transferred to the replacement runner. Sizes can still be changed depending on availability. If you have any further questions, please contact the Secretariat of the PUMA Salzburg Marathon. If you re-register, your insurance cover will lapse and you will not be able to take out a new policy.

Re-registration between applications - subject to availability only

If you want to change from one event to another at short notice, this is no problem at all if you want to change from the PUMA Salzburg Marathon to the Sparkasse Half Marathon. Simply run to the finish line after one lap! You will automatically be included in the half marathon ranking and will receive your finisher's medal for the Sparkasse Half Marathon.

If you would like to change your registration from the Salzburger Sparkasse Half Marathon to the Hervis 10K CityRun, please inform the PUMA Salzburg Marathon secretariat by 27 April 2026 at the latest (office@salzburg-marathon.at). You will receive a new registration confirmation by e-mail and a new bib number. You have no right to a refund of the difference in registration fees.

Participants can change their registration between events of the 23rd PUMA Salzburg Marathon free of charge up to and including 27 April 2026; if they change to an event with a higher entry fee, the difference must of course be paid. After that, a re-registration fee is only possible during registration on site. A re-registration fee of €10 will be charged, and the difference must also be paid if you re-register for an event with a higher entry fee.

Please note: If you change your registration for a competition, any insurance you have taken out expires, as this is related to both the person and the competition.
