#RunUpYourLife

A modern movement and running concept

#RunUpYourLife stands for personal departure, goal-oriented workout, fun and success! #RunUpYourLife stands for a lifestyle adapted to all ages in a very appealing, healthy environment.

The movement initiative, which was developed by Salzburg Marathon organizer and RunAustria head coach Johannes Langer, stands for individual and efficient training regardless of the goals. “Decades of experience in training practice and training scientific results show that success does not just depend on the duration or high intensity of the training, but on the right mix that is tailored to your personal needs,” says Langer.

#RunUpYourLife includes regular running meetings, training tips and editorial content in RunUp and on RunUp.eu, the weekly training program of the Club RunAustria, running seminars, running camps and performance tests as well as personal coaching and motivational impulses.

Preparation for marathon training

A marathon is one of the greatest challenges in endurance sports and requires thorough preparation. An important part of this preparation is a well thought-out training plan, tailored to the individual needs and goals of each runner. Such a plan should provide a careful balance between training load and recovery to avoid overuse and injury. This also includes various training methods such as interval training, tempo runs and long runs to train the body's various energy production systems. Proper nutrition and adequate recovery are also essential to build and maintain the body during intense periods of exercise.

A well-structured training plan can help increase a runner's performance and endurance and help them achieve the goal of a successful marathon. We present to you a twelve-week training schedule for various objectives, which is based on the date of Salzburg Marathon on May 18th and the marathon distance is designed. So he starts with Monday, February 24, 2025.

Health check

Are you fit enough for the Salzburg Marathon?

The marathon or first half marathon is a delightful challenge, but the strain shouldn't be underestimated. In addition to your realistic self-assessment and your motivating thoughts, a fitness check with your trusted sports doctor provides important clues for sensible preparation.

Health is the most important thing: no matter what distance you are aiming for, only start if you are healthy and your body can handle the stress. Then your running adventure will definitely be fun.

Qualified sports physicians will check your fitness for sport and support you in achieving your sporting and health goals. We recommend that you consult our Salzburg Marathon doctor Dr. Holger Förster. (see contact information below)

PS: As the organizer of the marathon, we recommend a preparation period of at least one and a half to two years, for example for newcomers to the marathon distance.

GRR questionnaire

Your health is very important to us!

The German Road Races eV association wants to actively support you in your sporting activities, so that you can do sport independently and in a health-conscious manner and prevent possible health hazards. In cooperation with the German Sports University in Cologne, the German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention and German Road Races, a scientifically sound test instrument has been created, which we would like to advise you to take part in. We therefore ask you to fill out the short GRR questionnaire on health conscientiously. You will receive an evaluation of your information at the end of the questionnaire. Please take a few minutes for your health!
